day in the sun

for two or three days the blossoms on our apricot tree literally stopped traffic. then, like snowflakes caught between seasons, millions of fragile white petals fell to the ground and disappeared in the grass.

only a few petals remain as fresh greenery bursts upon the scene.

jam by September? I'm hopeful.
