Fun and Fitness: “I’m in a war against ounces”


I covered 136 miles last week (36 more than my goal), for the most part pedalling hard to win the war against the bulge, against the ounces that are easier to put on than take off - especially at my advanced age. 

By so doing I hit another goal as well, i.e., I didn’t look like the second oldest guy on the ice while playing hockey last Wednesday.


The book entitled ‘The Day We Went to War’ is a very good read and motivated me to hop on the exercise bike four times last week. I turn pages almost unaware I’m turning the my bike’s pedals.
