Since the first day of spring there have only been a few mornings warm enough for me to sit on the front porch in pajamas, coffee in one hand, camera in the other.
The blossoms on the apricot tree are gone, buds are opening, and I predict a bumper crop.
Our fir tree, at 15 years old, always catches my eye on a sunny morning.

Do you have views from your porch? Priceless at times, eh?

Not a lot of housework gets done at this time of year as I'm too busy sitting on the doorstep watching the world go buy and soaking up the warm. Officially, I'm keeping my daughter company while she explores the dirt and dandelions and twigs and ants nests and so on. Give it a month and the doorstep will be too hot to sit on between 9.30 and 5.30 so I usually make the most of it now. That's my excuse anyway and I'm sticking to it.
Did I tell you a family of sparrows has moved into Chateau Harrison?
Hi Jessica,
I was wondering what type of birds decided to bless the Chateau. Thanks for mentioning.
Ahh, the front step. I love our porch. The cedar chairs are a perfect fit (like my new used Levis) and coffee never tastes better as Ollie walks in and out, in and out of the front door.
Enjoy the temps while you can.
Cheers,
Mr. H.
PS 'old country church' birdhouses are occupying my time - trying to get it just right.
