Zoom w a View: “Husha, husha, they all fall down”
Cathcart Street in Old South is home to several maple trees planted in the 1930s.
Residents lose one of the trees to the elements or old age every few years.
One in front of my house came down about 10 years ago.
Another on my neighbour’s lawn last year.
The trees that remain are now shedding leaves by the dozen, by the bushel. I can’t walk over them without wondering when the next tree will fall, when a new one will be planted to take its place.
