Zoom w a View: “There’s a hole in my table, dear Liza, dear Liza.”

This rare slab of pine or spruce (42” x 21”) has survived for over 100 years. It has many black marks left by rusted nails and one small hole, but the wood is straight and true.

My good judgement tells me to leave it untouched by any saw. Photos from every angle, however, are permissible.

Have you worked with century-old lumber in the past? Any words of caution or wisdom before I turn the slab into a writing table?
