Small Pleasures: Singing in modern times
I use a hammer with a lovely wooden handle to tap finishing nails into place around a chimney or to assemble a hydro pole. I also use it to tap nails and beads into place on perches of some cedar birdhouses. Hammers, nails, and nicely cut wood tell me short but significant stories while I work.
And certain songs - I have an endless supply of dusty CDs in the shop - encourage me to sing along or whistle a fine line of harmony.
I think small pleasures, several times a day, keep me well and certainly taste a lot better than cod liver oil.
