"five more rooms for rent"

My son is proud owner of a rare birdhouse, a six-plex constructed of old cedar deck boards. It weighs a ton and a half!

["Three units face east, three face west"]

But resident chickadees care little about the weight. One family now makes good use of it in spite of the fact it's on a crowded front porch and within reach of my busy and curious grand-daughters.

I'm always happy to see a birdhouse with residents and I'll be happier still if the six-plex (built in the spring 2010) attracts more sets of breeding pairs of chickadees.
