The Workshop: From scrap to ‘antique shop’

It takes an hour or two to turn scraps of white cedar into a basic birdhouse. The more I make at one time (eight last week), the more time slips by in the workshop, the more dust settles on my jeans and sandals. Cough, cough! (I know, I should always wear a mask).

It takes 3 - 4 hours to turn scraps of barnboard into an ‘antique shop.’ More fussy work is involved, though ‘work’ is the wrong word to describe the process of painting small signs and attaching bits and pieces to the outer walls.

‘A bit of fun’ is closer to the truth.
