Day 10
This post will be shortforthree reasons:
The spacebar works only onoccasionand is frustratingto use, ornot use - dependingon how you look at it.
The secondcomputer isn`t working at alland another hosteldweller ishovering.
Finally, I saw a sign on highway 132 Ouest at about 10 a.m. todayand because it contained 3of the 10 French words i understand,I nowhavesomethinginthe fridgein Trois Rivierethat is ready forconsumption.
The three words - micro (micro in anglais)
brasserie (brewery)
ouvert (open!!)
Though Imissafewimportant thingsabout home (seeyesterday`s post;addthis one-Imiss my iMac,especially the space bar),good things havehappened every day.
yesterday, the after supperhour onthe hostel`s back patio wasvery entertaining.
today, I missed spotting the purple martin house (andI hadmy goodcamera at the ready) that hadbeen loaded with purple martins when I saw it last week going est (but didn`t stop to take pictures). However, I spottedthe Bruegels micro-brasserieand when Iwalkedintothe farmhouse I stepped back 100 years in time.
Three times I asked Marie, co-owner, if I couldlive there on the farm (I offered to workforfreesamples untilmy wife stoppedbelievingthat I was waiting for a rare part to be delivered from Egypt formy Yamaha Virago.
ThreetimesMarie refused my request.
ThreetimesI offeredto workin the garden aswell ascleasn the barn.
No.No. No.
What`s a man gotta do to workata brewery around here!! I wailed.
Bruno, Marie`s large husband escorted me back to my motorcycle.
You win some and lose some.
Tomorrow I head toward Ottawa and a hostel that formerly was a jail.
Kind of fitting in a way.
