From the Workshop: Don’t throw out old cedar decking - call me

I know. The birdhouses look like they have a buzz cut. The roof could be an inch or two longer.

(Want a perfect roof? Try this one. All the way from Muskoka.)

But the houses are all made from recycled lumber that came from a gently-used deck two blocks from my house - and they’ll last for 30 years.

I like adding an abstract wing as trim. “Birds on the wing.” Get it?

But I don’t like explaining that the trim is an abstract wing, something I had to do to a person who sells some of my wares.

What am I talking about?

That thing over the hole.

It’s a wing, right? You see it?

***

Just kidding. I know you get it.
