After spending Thursday with two friends cooped up - but dry - inside a small cabin, we drove to a nearby lake-side village for a bit of fresh air.
We found it, along with clear skies and hearty breezes.
I spied two large purple martin houses near Bayfield's public beach.
One busy house was home to swallows, sparrows and martins.
Quite the community in the old metal birdhouse.

If you go to Bayfield this summer you may see more birds than boats.
