Canadians in Combined Operations, WW2

Memoirs of A. G. Kirby, Woodstock ONT

A. G. Kirby participated in the Dieppe Raid in August, 1942 and his story related to that event can be found in its entirety at my new website entitled 'Canadians in Combined Operations, WW2'.

Please visit to read more memoirs related to Combined Operations, including my father's, and learn more about the origins, activities and books associated with the Combined Operations organization. For example, prior to the Dieppe Raid, the raid on St. Nazaire took place and a dry dock was seriously damaged and limited the effectiveness of Germany's largest battleship, the Tirpitz. After the Dieppe Raid many Canadians in Combined Operations participated in the invasions of North Africa (Nov., 1942), Sicily (July, 1943), Italy (Sept., 1943) and Normandy, France (June 6, 1944).

The story slowly unfolds at my new website. : )
