London’s Mayor-elect Joe Fontana struck some kind of chord with his admonition to city staff to “pick up the damn leaves”, even if they’re stuffed inside an old night shirt.

I say, pick them up, especially if the leaves are on the curb at the proper time in a proper paper bag.
We got missed again.
About once every four weeks our garbage or recycling is missed because somebody parks their car to the right of the pole - and in “no parking” territory - hiding the spot where our stuff is sitting.
Even our neighbour’s leaves get missed on occasion because of the parked-car-thingy.
Joe, I don’t mind using the paper bags, but, can we deposit the bags in the middle of the road?
