World War 2: Recommended reading

The Canadians at War 1939/45 Volume 1 and 2

I've recommended these two books in the past and will again. Excellent reads from a Canadian point of view, by Readers' Digest. Worth the search in used book stores.

["From page 568, Volume 2"]

Something I read recently, about the importance of advances in radar during WW2, brought the thought to mind that piecing together and seeing significant connections between countless events - small and large - that occurred during the war is like slowly assembling the world's largest jigsaw puzzle.

One will never get to the end of it. But the work must continue if we're to understand a battle that shook all continents to the core and set off rumblings that still shake the ground beneath our feet.
