Zoom w a View: "birdhouses as weather stations"

If you have birdhouses on your property you have likely already discovered that they can be fairly easily used as weather stations. E.g., If you can see from your study that one is swaying in the wind then you know it's quite windy out. You can discern the direction of the wind by watching snow, even roof shingles, fly off during a strong gust.

["Retired feeder provides weather updates"]

Weather details, according to my retired feeder/weather station:

still really cold out, snow is not melting

so cold squirrels are trying to move indoors,
     possibly upstairs

slight breeze, snow from front porch drifted
west then dropped into the yard

maybe wear a coat and hat

More news at 11.
