Female Cardinal is Growing Up

A mature male and female cardinal pair visit the feeder regularly and when I spotted a male with a very much younger bird recently I thought, "He's talking his daughter out for her first driving and feeding lesson."

The young bird raised a ruckus during her first visit but not today. She's getting steadier on her feet, can feed herself and isn't as noisy. Hopefully she will one day settle down in the neighbourhood and visit me with the next generation.
