Bird Watching: "down to the floor boards"

This blue jay is one of my first visitors today, and while watching him I notice three things:

     his partner is in a tree nearby

     he is heavy enough to make the feeder wobble

     when he shoves off

     seed mix is almost down to the floor boards

I'd better put on my slippers and get out there.
