I Ask You: Under the spreading arms of the mystery tree

Two days ago I motorcycled to Strathroy (found a new back road - lovely) and took a few photos of a mystery tree.

I think it’s some type of maple, but need your help.

Do you know which kind of maple?

[“The Mystery Maple?”: photo GH]

I’m pretty sure it’s not one of the following:

Southern Sugar Maple, Sycamore Maple, Japanese Maple, Three Flowered Maple, Trident Maple, Amur Maple, Fullmoon Maple, Bigleaf Maple, Flowering Maple, Paperbark Maple, Hedge Maple or Silver Maple

[“It’s not a Fernleaf Maple”]

But, could it be one of these:

White Barked Maple, Florida Maple, Ashleaf Maple, Norway Maple, Devil Maple, Canyon Maple, Painted Maple, Purple Blow Maple, Autumn Blaze Maple, Hawthorn Maple, Bigtooth Maple, Ivy Leaved Maple, Red Maple, Sugar Maple, Redvein Maple, Shatung Maple, Red Sunset Maple, Mountain Maple, Black Maple, Nikko Maple, Coliseum Maple, Snakebark Maple or Chalk Maple?

Go for it. Let me know what you find out.

Soon.

I promise.
