Out With a Whimper or a Bang?
Maria's Packaged Goods - a "must see" (and sip) experience.
Some destinations we visited were a long Tube or bus ride (e.g., Jolly Pumpkin, Half Acres, Maria's), some were both. But, in my humble opinion, Paul's collection of 'Top Ten Places to see in Chi-Town' was top-rate. And the accidental finds were AOK as well, especially a couple of bottle shops that had specialty beers stacked on crates just inside their door.
This is the last collection of photos from my lengthy files re our walking, tubing, bussing tour of Chicago in November, 2017.
Overall, I score the trip 9.5 stars out of 10.
Next time - and I hope there is a next time, with both sons, and/or even more company - I will select a hotel closer to the centre of the action, though the Essex Inn served us well. And I will take even more photographs! : )
Highly Recommended Destinations (Google for directions, beer lists, etc.):
Half Acres Brewery
Revolution Brewery
Moody Tongue Brewery
Maria's Packaged Goods*
Lagunitas Brewery, Planet Earth
Bangers and Lace Pub
Jolly Pumpkin Brewery
Goose Island Brewery
The Map Room
Binny's (our last stop), to load up : )
Oh, and there was some place with a catchy name that had great ice cream bars....

Final Photos From Along the Way:
Can you spot me looking up at this lovely sign?
I did a lot of looking up in Chi-Town
A long ride SW on the Tube, but worth the ride.
Note the bottom line of the full address!
Paul ready to hit Lagunitas. We raised several questions during the lengthy
tour and were rewarded with a free six-pack of assorted 'specialty beers' : )
"Say no more, say no more!"
Very creative use of bottle caps!
"I like this idea of free beer before we get more free beer."
Beer is aging in very lovely wooden barrels.
We left the Loop behind us and headed to the train station. What a trip, I say!!
* Don't miss Maria's!
