Recommended Reading: Tar Sands Showdown

“The dominant economic model, the accumulation of capital based on the plundering of natural resources, is simply unsustainable.” pg. 275

Welcome to the Alberta Tar Sands, where ‘the plundering of natural resources’ has been taken to a whole new level.

Canada. Crude. Dirty. Unsustainable.

If you want to get your hands dirty, and know more about the tar sands oil industry in Alberta and its impact on Canada, dig into this book. I wrote more marginal notes in this book than in many others in the last few years, so I’ll be using it as a resource for some time, and recommend it now to you.

The author (Tony Clarke) is associated with Tar Sand Watch.
