So, what’s that make Don Cherry?

Don Cherry, a well-known HNIC commentator (tator, tatter, potato, potatter), likes to throw out the odd phrase on occasion.

His recent speech at Toronto Mayor Rob Ford’s inauguration contained the words “pinko” and “left-wing kooks.”

My very expensive Concise Oxford Dictionary defines ‘kook’ in this way:

n. & a. (sl.) crazy or eccentric (person)

While speaking, Mr. Cherry was wearing a pink jacket made from a few colourful yards of curtain material.

Few others would dare. Kinda eccentric, if you catch my drift.

So, what’s that make Don Cherry?
